Amazonas by Viverde - Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge

The Anavilhanas Jungle lodge is located 100km far from Manaus in straight line, in the neighborhood of Novo Airão City (160km by road). It is located at Negro riverbank in Anavilhanas Archipelago, an Ecological Station in process to become an Ecological Park. The transfers from Manaus to the lodge take 3 hours in each way. The transfers occur in van in air-conditioning by paved road connecting Manaus to Novo Airão crossing the Negro River by ferryboat.

The lodge offers 16 apartments. All in wood covered by straw respecting the regional design, "Caboclo". All rooms kindly decorated aiming comfort and well-being of our guests. 8 apartments are double and 8 are twin beds, but any of them can receive a third bed. The rooms are equipped with box spring bed type, air-conditioning split type (no noise), minibar, bathroom with hot/cold shower and electric power. The lodge has a back-up power generator just in case. The chalets also have a charming veranda and hammock for sleeping or just relax outside.

The Anavilhanas lodge restaurant serves regional and international cosine. The facilities of lodge also include reception desk and bar with large variety of drinks and last minute stuff. The game room offers leisure in your free time with billiard table, table games/cards, 29" TV set (satellite TV) and great variety of magazines and books in English and Portuguese about the Amazon region and other matters. Finally, a panoramic swimming pool with view to the Negro River and Anavilhanas Archipelago islands visited by dolphins every morning. Our expeditions for igarapés (creeks), igapós (flooded forest), rivers, islands and forest are special chapter. How to describe the sensation to follow wooden trip in canoes and regional boats for the sea of river waters that overflows for the labyrinth of islands one of the biggest fluvial archipelago of the world? The beauty of Anavilhanas, macaws, parrots and of the ?botos? (dolphins) always present and surprising the visitor at every moment. During the draught, we offer to strolls white sand beaches lost in way to rivers and forest. The Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is totally in accordance with the environmental laws and strictly follows sustainability principles, from its construction to the operation:

- We kept the Permanent Preserved Area (APP), leaving 30 m of riverbank bush untouched, preventing sandy of rivers and erosion.
- Our endeavor followed the norms of an Environment Control Plan elaborated by a group of forestry engineers and biologists, aiming to minimize the impacts of the undertaking and to have a complete understanding of the local ecosystem.
- All the wood used in the construction of the lodge came from reservation of responsible management forests.
- We make selective garbage collection.
- Our sewer system is treated in biological tanks. There is no sewage release into the rivers or ground water.

In the lodge building time, we placed bungalows, the restaurant and the reception in way minimize the impact on the area and to keep the scene in harmony with the forest. We believe that ecotourism is one of the main allies for the preservation of Amazon fauna and flora. The conscientious tourism generates income, guarantees the preservation of the native forest, it assists government and still spread the environment education between the local people and visitors.

Transfers Manaus->Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge->Manaus by ground
Morning departures at 8:00 AM from Manaus Airport or Tropical Hotels towards to the downtown hotels at 8:30 AM.
Afternoon departures between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM exclusively from the Manaus Airport.
Morning departures from Lodge at 08:00 AM exclusively with destination to the airport.
Afternoon departure is at 02:00 PM to the hotels or Manaus airport.

The packages include:
Transfer in van with air-conditioning, welcome drinks, accommodation (suite with split air-conditioner, bathroom with hot & cold shower, Queen Size bed, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and guided* excursions as described above.

Recommendation:
Drink mineral water; bring light and comfortable clothes, shoes for walk, sunglasses, hat/cap, rain gear, flashlight, binoculars, sun lotion and repellent. Also, bring your own medicine for daily use or incidents. In addition, cash for extras expenses and some handcrafts stuff.
